Flames activate Pospisil from IR, assign Coronato, Klapka, Schwindt to AHL

The Calgary Flames have activated forward Martin Pospisil from injured reserve after missing one week with an upper-body injury, the club announced Saturday.

Pospisil was sidelined on Jan. 20 after suffering an upper-body injury two nights prior against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

In 33 games this season, the 24-year-old has four goals and 11 points.

In a corresponding move, the Flames have reassigned Matt Coronato, Adam Klapka and Cole Schwindt to AHL Calgary.

Coronato, the Flames’ 13th-overall pick in the 2021 NHL Draft, has appeared in 14 NHL games this season, registering one goal and two assists.

Klapka was called up to the big club one week ago, making his NHL debut on Jan. 20 against the Edmonton Oilers. In three games, the 23-year-old did not register a point.

Schwindt, part of the return from the blockbuster Matthew Tkachuk trade to Florida, suited up in three games during his stint in the NHL, registering two penalty minutes.

The Flames are off until Feb. 6 for the all-star break, returning to action when they face the Boston Bruins at TD Garden.
