Flames sign defenceman Jonathan Aspirot to one-year, two-way contract

Jonathan Aspirot is staying in Calgary.

The Flames announced Tuesday that they have re-signed the 25-year-old defenceman to a one-year, two-way contract with an average annual value of $775,000.

Aspirot played in 66 games with the Flames’ AHL affiliate, the Calgary Wranglers, in 2023-24, scoring six goals, totalling 33 points and being called for 80 penalty minutes.

In six Calder Cup Playoff games, Aspirot scored one goal and had two assists.

The Mascouche, Que., native has played in 227 career AHL games between the Wranglers and Belleville Senators.
