Florida Panthers sign defenceman Adam Boqvist to one-year deal

The Florida Panthers have signed defenceman Adam Boqvist to a one-year contract, the club announced Tuesday.

The deal is reportedly worth $775,000.

Boqvist, 23, was drafted eighth overall by Chicago in 2018 before eventually being traded to Columbus in 2021. He was placed on waivers by the Blue Jackets on June 30. When he cleared, he became a free agent.

The Swede has collected 85 points in 209 NHL games and will be joining his older brother, Jesper, with the Panthers.
