Flyers to healthy scratch Keith Yandle, ending ironman streak at 989 games

Philadephia Flyers coach Mike Yao confirmed that defenceman Keith Yandle will be left out from their lineup for Saturday’s game against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

This ends Yandle’s record-setting ironman streak of 989 games, 11 shy of 1000 consecutive NHL games.

Yandle broke Doug Jarvis’ record of 964 games on Jan. 25 in a 4-3 Flyers loss to the New York Islanders.

Arizona Coyotes forward Phil Kessel now becomes the active player with the longest string of consecutive games with 968. Kessel trails Yandle by 21 games.
