It was a game of goalie tag for the Ottawa Senators on Sunday as Linus Ullmark was forced to come in the game more than once in relief of Anton Forsberg.
The Senators gave Forsberg the start against the Colorado Avalanche but he was forced to leave the game because of an equipment issue. Forsberg’s skate blade came off his left skate. Initially, the training staff tried to fix it but weren’t able to do it right away.
As a result, Ullmark was forced to come in the game and made a couple of saves in 17 seconds of action before Forsberg would return.
However, Forsberg would only play 1:28 before having to leave the game again, with his skate still an issue. Eventually, Ullmark would come out of the game again, and Forsberg would make his third stint of the game.
Coming into the game, Forsberg had a 2-1 record in four games with a 2.94 goals-against average and a .904 ave percentage including a 31 save shutout in his last start against Utah.
Ullmark has started in three games this season after suffering an injury going 1-2 with a 3.44 goals-against average and a .882 save percentage. He missed four games after dealing with a muscle strain.
