Hurricanes agree to deal with defenceman Shayne Gostisbehere

The Carolina Hurricanes continue to revamp their blue line by signing defenceman Shayne Gostisbehere.

The deal is for three years with a cap hit of $3.2 million. Gostisbehere is coming off a one-year deal with the Detroit Red Wings, who signed Erik Gustafsson earlier in free agency.

Gostisbehere had 10 goals and 56 points in 81 games last season. He was with the Hurricanes during the 2022-23 season after getting acquired at the trade deadline.

In 619 career games, Gostisbehere has 97 goals and 367 points. He was selected in the third round of the 2012 NHL Draft by the Philadelphia Flyers.
