Hurricanes goaltender Frederik Andersen out week-to-week with lower-body injury

Carolina Hurricanes Rod Brind’Amour told reporters Thursday that goaltender Frederik Andersen will be out week-to-week due to a lower-body injury.

Andersen sustained the injury last Saturday during the Hurricanes’ 4-1 victory over the Seattle Kraken.

The 35-year-old from Herning, Denmark, has played stellar this season holding a 3-1-0 record, 1.48 goals-against average and .941 save percentage and has allowed just six goals on 101 shots.

Spencer Martin was recalled from AHL Chicago on Monday to back up Pyotr Kochetkov.

The Hurricanes (6-2-0) are fourth in the Metropolitan Division and look to extend their four-game winning streak when they host the Boston Bruins (4-5-1) on Thursday night.
