Seth Jarvis is staying put in Raleigh.
The 2020 first-round pick agreed to a $63.2 million deal Saturday that will keep him with the Carolina Hurricanes for the next eight years.
The deal also carries a $7.42 million cap hit and has $29.24 million in signing bonuses.
The 22-year-old forward scored the second-most points on the team during his third season with the Hurricanes in 2024, tacking on 33 goals and 67 points while coming up a game shy of playing a second full campaign in his young NHL career.
“Seth is a cornerstone player for our franchise,” said Hurricanes general manager Eric Tulsky. “He took another huge step last season, playing in all situations and displaying the skill and competitive drive that will make him a star in this league in the years to come.”
The Winnipeg native led all Carolina forwards in goals (five) during their spring post-season run that ended in a Game 6 defeat to the New York Rangers in the second round.
Jarvis has watched his ice time rise and his role with the Hurricanes elevate in recent years, becoming a staple in the team’s top-six attacking corps and showing promising signs of becoming a core piece to Carolina’s roster.
His presence on the power play was especially felt last season, with Jarvis leading the team on the man-advantage with 13 goals.
