Jets sign Brad Lambert to three-year, entry-level contract

The Winnipeg Jets have signed 2022 30th-overall pick Brad Lambert to a three-year, entry-level contract, the team announced Wednesday.

The deal carries a yearly cap hit of $950,000 and an average annual value of $1.2 million, according to CapFriendly.

The club assigned Lambert to their AHL affiliate Manitoba Moose on Oct. 7.

An injury delayed Lambert’s pre-season but the first-round pick scored in his Jets debut, a 4-3 win over the Montreal Canadiens at the Bell Centre where he was drafted. Lambert played the following two games but failed to record a point.

Lambert at one point was considered a potential top-five pick in the 2022 draft class, however he nearly fell out of the opening round. The Lahti, Finland native finished last season as the No. 10-ranked European-based skater according to NHL Central Scouting after his campaign with the Liiga’s Pelicans organization.
