Jets sign defenceman Dmitry Kuzmin to three-year, entry-level deal

The Winnipeg Jets have come to terms with defenceman Dmitry Kuzmin on a three-year contract, the team announced Sunday.

Kuzmin’s entry-level deal will carry an average annual value of $866,667.

Winnipeg selected Kuzmin in the third round, 82nd overall, in last month’s NHL Entry Draft.

The 18-year-old from Kholstovo, Belarus, had three goals and nine assists in 46 games with Dinamo-Molodechno of the Belarus league. He also scored the “Michigan goal” for Belarus in a game during the under-18 world championship.
