Kings re-sign goaltender Pheonix Copley to one-year contract

After ending the 2023-24 season on the long-term injured reserve, Pheonix Copley is getting another crack in Los Angeles.

The Kings announced Monday that they have re-signed the 32-year-old goaltender to a one-year contract worth $825,000.

Copley played in eight games before going down with a knee injury, posting a 4-1-2 record, a 3.16 goals-against average and an .870 save percentage.

The North Pole, Alaska native has spent the past two seasons in Los Angeles after beginning his career with the St. Louis Blues and Washington Capitals.

In 76 career NHL games, Copley owns a 44-16-8 record with a 2.83 goals-against average and an .899 save percentage.

Copley will compete for the Kings’ crease with newly acquired goalie Darcy Kuemper and David Rittich, who also re-signed in Los Angeles early this off-season.
