Kings sign G Carter George to three-year entry-level contract

The Los Angeles Kings have agreed to terms with their promising rookie goalie.

Los Angeles signed Carter George to a three-year entry-level contract worth $2.6 million with an AAV of $875,000, the team announced on Thursday.

George, 18, was the 57th overall pick in the second round. He was the third goaltender off the board and the first from the CHL. He played his junior hockey with the Owen Sound Attack.

The Thunder Bay, Ont., native had a 23-31-9 record in 56 games last season. He had a 3.30 GAA and a .907 save percentage. He went 0-4-0 in the playoffs with a 4.08 GAA and 0.904 save percentage.

He also represented Canada at the IIHF U18 World Championships in Finland, helping the team come away with the gold medal. He had a 2.33 GAA and a .915 save percentage.
