Kraken sign goaltender Kim Saarinen to three-year, entry-level contract

The Seattle Kraken have signed goaltender Kim Saarinen to a three-year, entry-level contract, the team announced Sunday.

The deal carries an average annual value of $975,000.

The Kraken selected Saarinen in the third round, 88th overall, of the 2024 NHL Draft.

The 17-year-old from Hameenlinna, Finland, posted a 14-5 record, including two shutouts, a 2.41 goals-against average and a .917 save percentage with HPK’s under-20 team this past season.

He also represented Finland in the under-18 world championship and the Hlinka Gretzky Cup.

Saarinen won the bronze medal for Finland at the 2022-23 under-17 world hockey challenge.
