Kraken sign Max McCormick to two-year, two-way contract

The Seattle Kraken have signed forward Max McCormick to a two-year, two-way contract worth $1.15 million, the team announced Sunday. The deal carries a $775,000 average annual value.

McCormick, who captains the Coachella Valley Firebirds, played in 68 regular-season games for the Kraken’s AHL affiliate, scoring 32 goals and 60 points. He added eight goals and 11 more points in 18 playoff games during the Firebirds’ run to the Calder Cup Final.

He’s spent time with the Ottawa Senators and Carolina Hurricanes during his seven-year professional career. He was initially selected in the sixth round of the 2011 NHL Draft by the Senators.
