Kraken’s Grubauer, Schultz exit game vs. Lightning with injuries

Seattle Kraken goaltender Phillipp Grubauer and defenceman Justin Schultz are both out for the remainder of Saturday’s game against the Tampa Bay Lightning with injuries, the team announced.

Grubauer left with a lower-body injury late in the second period after pushing over to try and make a save on Lightning forward Anthony Cirelli. He limped down the tunnel after the period and was replaced by backup Joey Daccord to start the third.

Schultz exited with an upper-body injury after he was struck in the face by a puck on a Cirelli shot.

Grubauer came into Saturday’s action with a 3.26 goals-against average and .883 save percentage in 16 starts for the Kraken this season. He stopped 21 of 23 shots he faced against the Lightning before he was forced to leave.

Schultz was a minus-1 in 8:11 of ice time against the Lightning. He has two goals and seven assists this season.
