The Tampa Bay Lightning announced Thursday they have re-signed defenceman Cal Foote to a two-year contract with an average annual value of $850,000.

Foote played in his first NHL season in 2020-21, accumulating one goal and two assists in 35 games, but he did not feature in the Stanley Cup playoffs.

The back-to-back Stanley Cup champions drafted Foote 14th overall in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. The 22-year-old from Denver played 150 games for the AHL’s Syracuse Crunch.
