Linus Ullmark to join Senators on upcoming road trip

Goaltender Linus Ullmark is set to join the Ottawa Senators for their upcoming road trip.

Ottawa announced Sunday that fellow netminder Mads Søgaard will return to the Belleville Senators of the American Hockey League.

Ullmark has missed the past three games due to a strain.

The 31-year-old from Lugnvik, Sweden, has a 1-1-0 record, 2.58 goals-against average and .914 save percentage since joining the Senators this off-season.

The Senators acquired the 2023 Vezina Trophy winner from the Boston Bruins on June 24.

Ullmark signed a four-year, $33 million contract extension on the eve of the season.

Ottawa’s three-game road trip begins with a visit to Utah on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, forward Cole Reinhardt was recalled from AHL Belleville.

Reinhardt has five points (three goals and two assists) in three games with Belleville this season.

The 24-year-old from Calgary was drafted in the sixth round, 181st overall, by Ottawa in 2020. He made his NHL debut during the 2021-22 season appearing in one game with the Senators.
