Centre John Tavares remained absent from Toronto Maple Leafs practice on Monday, with the former captain having already missed the team’s home opener on Saturday with an illness.

Head coach Craig Berube said that Tavares is feeling better but couldn’t confirm if he will be able to play at home to the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday (7:30 p.m. ET on Sportsnet).

Berube also said that goalie Joseph Woll skated before the main group went out for practice. Woll was placed on injured reserve last Wednesday with a lower-body injury.
