The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed forward Travis Boyd to a one-year contract valued at $700,000, the team announced Saturday.

Boyd split his 2019-20 season between the Washington Capitals and their AHL affiliate, the Hershey Bears.

In 24 games with Washington, Boyd scored three goals and added seven assists. The 27-year-old scored once during his four Stanley Cup playoff games this year, too.

Over 85 career regular season games, Boyd has scored eight goals and added 23 assists.

Boyd was originally selected by the Washington Capitals in the sixth round, 177th overall, of the 2011 NHL Draft.
