Minnesota Wild ink Joseph Cecconi to one-year, two-way deal

The Minnesota Wild have agreed to a one-year, two-way contract with defenceman Joseph Cecconi, the team announced on Monday.

Cecconi, 27, spent the 2023-24 season in the AHL with the Rochester Americans. Through 58 games, the 6-foot-3 Youngstown, N.Y. native logged 13 points (one goal, 12 assists) to go with 60 PIM. He also added three points (one goal, two assists through five Calder Cup Playoff games.

The former 133rd overall pick in 2015 by the Dallas Stars has made 275 AHL appearances through six seasons, split between Rochester and Texas. He’s tallied 54 total points (eight goals, 46 assists) during his tenure.

Cecconi previously won a gold medal with Team USA at the 2017 IIHF World Junior Championship, recording two assists in seven games.
