The Minnesota Wild have signed forward Ben Jones to a two-year, two-way contract, the team announced on Monday.
The 25-year-old spent the past two seasons with the Calgary Wranglers, the AHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames. Most recently, during the 2023-2024 campaign, Jones suited up for 72 games, netting a team-leading 21 goals, along with 22 assists for 43 points.
The six-foot tall Waterloo, Ont. native was originally a seventh-round draft pick to the Vegas Golden Knights in 2017. Since then, he’s tallied 161 points in 283 career games through five AHL seasons. He has also appeared in two NHL games with the Golden Knights during the 2021-2022 season.
Jones was drafted out of the OHL, where he posted 240 points through 260 contests across four seasons with the Niagara Ice Dogs. He served as the team’s captain in 2018-19.
