NHL unveils jerseys for inaugural 4 Nations Face-Off

More details emerged Thursday about the first international hockey tournament featuring top players since 2016.

The NHL unveiled the jerseys for each of the four teams — Canada, the U.S., Sweden and Finland — set to compete in the February competition.

Canada’s sweaters feature a large red maple leaf in the centre and “Canada” in white lettering in the middle.

Six players have been named to the Canadian squad: Sidney Crosby, Connor McDavid, Nathan MacKinnon, Cale Makar, Brad Marchand and Brayden Point. The team will be coached by the Lightning’s Jon Cooper.

The tournament will run from Feb. 12-20 in Montreal and Boston. All four teams will play against each other once, and the two with the best record will meet in the championship game in Boston on the final day of competition.

Each country has filled six spots on its roster with players including Auston Matthews (U.S.), Victor Hedman (Sweden) and Aleksander Barkov (Finland).
