Oilers recall Lavoie on emergency basis, loan Gleason to AHL Bakersfield

The Edmonton Oilers have recalled forward Raphael Lavoie from AHL Bakersfield on emergency basis, the team announced Saturday.

In a corresponding move, the Oilers sent defenceman Ben Gleason to the Bakersfield Condors.

Lavoie, a 23-year-old second-round pick for the Oilers in 2019, appeared in six NHL games at the start of the season and did not record a point before being sent down to the AHL.

In Bakersfield, Lavoie has 10 goals and four assists in 19 games.

Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch confirmed that Lavoie will play on Saturday on the fourth line.

Gleason, 25, has not appeared in a game for the Oilers this season.

The Oilers, 16-15-1, take on the Los Angeles Kings in a divisional matchup on Hockey Night in Canada. Watch it unfold on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+ at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT.
