Oilers sign forward Derek Ryan to two-year, $2.5M contract

The Edmonton Oilers have signed forward Derek Ryan to a two-year, $2.5-million contract, the team announced on Wednesday.

Ryan, 34, spent the last three seasons with the Calgary Flames. He appearing in 43 games during the 2020-21 season, recording two goals and 11 assists and a plus-6 rating.

Through six NHL seasons, Ryan has played a total of 345 games, notching 53 goals and 96 assists in that span.

Prior to his big-league career, Ryan spent four years in Edmonton starring for the University of Alberta.
