Panthers’ Lockwood to have hearing for hit on Wild goalie Fleury

Florida Panthers forward William Lockwood will have a hearing Saturday for his hit on Minnesota Wild goalie Marc-André Fleury, NHL Department of Player Safety announced.

Later in the game after the hit, Fleury left Friday’s win over the Panthers with an upper-body injury.

Fleury appeared to sustain the injury in the first period when he was run into by Lockwood behind the net. Taking exception to the collision, teammate Brandon Duhaime exchanged blows with Lockwood after the play, and Lockwood was helped off the ice by teammates afterward.

However, Fleury did not exit the game until the second period, when he was replaced by Filip Gustavsson. The Wild ultimately beat the Panthers, 6-4.
