The Pittsburgh Penguins have agreed to a one-year deal with forward Mark Jankowski.

The deal will pay the former Calgary Flames centre $700,000.

“Mark is another versatile player that gives us an option at the centre position,” Penguins general manager Jim Rutherford said in a statement. “His added experience on the penalty kill, where he has had success over the last few seasons, makes him a good fit for our team.”

In 208 games with the Flames, Jankowski had 36 goals and 64 points. He was originally selected with the 21st overall pick in the 2012 NHL Draft and was not tendered a qualifying offer.
