Predators sign defenceman Brady Skjei to seven-year deal

The Nashville Predators continue to be busy on the opening day of NHL free agency.

Nashville has agreed to a seven-year, $49 million deal with defenceman Brady Skjei, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported Monday.

Skjei, 30, played 80 games with the Carolina Hurricanes last season and recorded 13 goals and 34 assists.

He spent the past five seasons with the Hurricanes. Skjei was originally drafted 28th overall by the New York Rangers in the 2012 NHL Draft.
