The New York Rangers have agreed to terms with Ryan Reaves on a one-year contract extension, the team announced Saturday.
Terms of the deal were not immediately announced.
Reaves, who earlier this month was acquired by the Rangers from the Vegas Golden Knights for a third-round pick, played in 37 games for the Golden Knights last season. The 37-year-old scored one goal and added four assists, while leading the NHL in hits per 60 minutes of ice time.
The 34-year-old skated in 37 post-season games for Vegas in 2020-21, a run that saw the Golden Knights advance to the Stanley Cup semifinals.
A veteran of 686 NHL games, Reaves’ career included stops with St. Louis and Pittsburgh before Vegas.
Since his first NHL season in 2010-11, Reaves ranks third in the NHL in hits with 2,322 and has helped his team advance to the Stanley Cup Playoffs each of the last 10 seasons.
