Oilers re-sign forward Mattias Janmark for three years

After scoring four goals in the run to the Stanley Cup Final, Mattias Janmark is returning to the Edmonton Oilers.

The Oilers have re-signed Janmark to a three-year contract with an average annual value of $1.45 million.

Janmark has spent the last two seasons in Edmonton and scored four goals and totalled 12 points in 71 games for the team in 2023-24. He also played in all 25 of the Oilers’ post-season games, collecting eight points including two shorthanded goals.

The 31-year-old centre has played on four different teams in his eight-year career, including the Oilers, Dallas Stars, Chicago Blackhawks and Vegas Golden Knights.

The Red Wings originally selected Janmark in the third round of the 2013 draft. At 25, he had his career-best season in Dallas, scoring 19 goals in 2017-18.

Janmark arrived in Edmonton as a free agent in July 2022.
