Carolina Hurricanes sign Dominik Badinka to three-year, entry-level deal

The Carolina Hurricanes have signed defenceman Dominik Badinka to a three-year, entry-level contract worth $775,000 per year, the team announced on Sunday.

The six-foot-three, right-handed blueliner was the team’s first selection in the 2024 NHL draft, at 34 overall.

The Czech Republic native spent the 2023-2024 season split between the Malmo Redhawks, and their junior club, in the Swedish Hockey League. He tallied two goals, eleven assists in 17 games with Malmo Jr., while suiting up at the pro level for 33 games, recording a goal and three assists. He was one of only three defensemen aged 19 or younger to record a point in the SHL last season.
