Sabres ink D Jack Rathbone to one-year, two-way deal

The Buffalo Sabres have agreed to a one-year, two-way contract with defenceman Jack Rathbone, the team announced on Monday.

The contract is for the league minimum, $775,000, at the NHL level.

Rathbone, 25, spent the 2023-24 season in the AHL — split between the Abbotsford Canucks and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. He logged 25 points (nine goals, 16 assists) through 69 games.

The former 95th overall pick in 2017 has played in 28 career NHL games, all with the Vancouver Canucks, recording five points (two goals, three assists).
