Senators’ Colin White to miss 4-6 months after shoulder surgery

Colin White was forced to leave the game after an awkward collision with Toronto Maple Leafs forward David Kampf along the boards.

Ottawa Senators centre Colin White will need surgery to repair a dislocated shoulder and will be out for four to six months.

Senators coach D.J. Smith provided the update on White during his media availability Thursday.

White sustained the injury five minutes into Monday’s pre-season game against Toronto after landing awkwardly on his arm following a collision with Maple Leafs forward David Kampf.

The 24-year-old from Boston had 10 goals and eight assists in 45 games with the Senators last season.
