The Ottawa Senators announced Friday the signing of forward Jamieson Rees to a one-year, two-way contract.

Originally selected by the Carolina Hurricanes in the second round (44th overall) of the 2019 NHL Draft, Rees was acquired by the Senators via trade on March 14.

Ottawa sent their sixth-round draft pick in 2024 to Carolina as part of the deal.

Across 51 AHL games this past season split between the Springfield Thunderbirds, Charlotte Checkers and Belleville Senators, the 24-year-old recorded just eight assists.

In his previous three AHL seasons with the Chicago Wolves, the Hamilton, Ont., native recorded 80 points (29 goals and 51 assists) over 155 games.

Prior to going professional, Rees played three seasons for the OHL’s Sarnia Sting.
