The San Jose Sharks are making a move up the board ahead of the 2024 NHL Draft.
San Jose will now be selecting 11th overall after making a trade Thursday with the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for the 14th-overall pick and a second-round pick (42nd overall).
The Sharks acquired the 14th-overall pick from the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Erik Karlsson trade last season. The second-round pick originally belonged to the New Jersey Devils, which they traded as part of the package to acquire Timo Meier.
Buffalo now owns nine picks heading into the draft.
