St. Louis Blues ink three-year, entry-level contract with Adam Jiricek

The St. Louis Blues have signed their 2024 first-round draft pick, Adam Jiricek to a three-year, entry-level deal, the team announced on Tuesday.

The signing is a standard rookie deal, having an average annual salary of $950,000 through the 2026-2027 season.

The six-foot-three defenceman was taken 16th overall by the Blues, less than a week ago at the 2024 NHL Draft.

The 18-year-old has spent the past three seasons with the HC Plzen organization in his Czechia hometown. Jiricek played the majority of the 2023-2024 campaign with their top team, suiting up for 19 games. He also played in three contests with their U-20 club.

A year prior, in 2022-23, Jiricek dressed in 41 regular-season games with the U-20 team and led the league in goals from defencemen with 12, while recording 29 points through 41 contests.

The Plzen native also represented Czechia at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup, earning a silver medal, while adding a bronze at the U-20 World Junior Championships.
