Stars sign defenceman Ilya Lyubushkin to two-year deal

The Dallas Stars are loading up on defence.

Shortly after they signed defenceman Matt Dumba, the Stars also added defenceman Ilya Lyubushkin to a two-year, $6.5 million deal Monday, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported.

The 30-year-old defenceman was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs from the Anaheim Ducks ahead of last season’s trade deadline.

In 19 games regular season games with the Maple Leafs, Lyubushkin had four assists. He also added three assists in seven playoff games.

Over 353 career games with the Maple Leafs, Ducks, Buffalo Sabres and Arizona Coyotes, he has five goals and 42 assists.
