Stars sign defenceman Matt Dumba to two-year deal

The Dallas Stars have added a player to their blue line.

The Stars signed defenceman Matt Dumba to a two-year deal worth $7.5 million, for an AAV of $3.75 million, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported Monday.

Dumba was traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning from the Arizona Coyotes at the trade deadline last season. In 76 combined games regular-season games with the Coyotes and Lightning last season, Dumba recorded four goals and eight assists.

The 29-year-old defenceman spent the majority of his career with the Minnesota Wild before joining the Coyotes for the 2023-24 season. In 674 career NHL games, Dumba has 83 goals and 165 assists.
