Tomas Tatar returning to New Jersey Devils

Tomas Tatar is going back to a familiar spot.

The New Jersey Devils signed the veteran forward to a one-year, $1.8-million contract, the team announced on Tuesday.

Tatar, 33, split last season between the Colorado Avalanche and Seattle Kraken, finishing with nine goals and 15 assists in 70 games.

Tatar played two seasons for the Devils, from 2021-23.

In 853 career NHL games with Detroit, Vegas, Montreal, New Jersey, Colorado and Seattle, Tatar has 220 goals and 259 assists for 479 points.

Tatar was captain of Slovakia’s team at the most recent world championship.
