Vegas Golden Knights sign defenceman Viliam Kmec to three-year, entry-level contract

The Vegas Golden Knights have signed defenceman Viliam Kmec to a three-year, entry-level contract, the team announced Monday.

Kmec, who was undrafted, was invited to the team’s development camp in July.

The 20-year-old from Kosice, Slovakia, has spent the past three seasons with the Prince George Cougars of the Western Hockey League.

He had a career-high nine goals and 34 points in 58 games last season plus three goals and nine points in 15 playoff games.

Kmec also represented Slovakia at the world junior championship and recorded four assists in five games.
