Golden Knights’ Jack Eichel issued game misconduct for spearing Wild’s Kaprizov

Vegas Golden Knights forward Jack Eichel was given a five-minute major penalty and a game misconduct for spearing Minnesota Wild forward Kirill Kaprizov.

Saturday’s game against the Minnesota Wild ended earlier than expected for Vegas Golden Knights centre Jack Eichel.

Eichel was tossed from the contest after he received a five-minute major and game misconduct for spearing Wild winger Kirill Kaprizov.

The incident occurred in the second period, with Kaprizov skating up the ice and colliding with Eichel’s stick as it was thrust toward his chest.

It was a retaliatory play by Eichel after he was checked hard off the puck by Kaprizov just seconds earlier.

Upon review, the initial call on the ice stood, awarding Eichel the first-ever major penalty of his career.

Kaprizov ended up scoring on the ensuing five-minute power play, delivering a different kind of revenge by putting his team up 1-0.
