Waiver update: Oilers lose Lavoie to Golden Knights

As NHL teams work to get their cap-compliant roster submitted by 5 p.m. ET Monday, there was a flurry of activity on the waiver wire hours earlier.

The Edmonton Oilers lost depth forward Raphael Lavoie to the Vegas Golden Knights. Lavoie played seven games with the Oilers last season. Vegas also claimed forward Cole Schwindt from the Calgary Flames.

The Toronto Maple Leafs held on to goalie Matt Murray after putting him on waivers on Sunday. Two other goalies changed places, including the Vancouver Canucks reclaiming Jiri Patera from the Boston Bruins.

The Detroit Red Wings placed forward Austin Watson on waivers after signing him to a two-way deal Monday following a professional tryout offer.
