Wild close to signing forward Ryan Hartman to contract extension

The Minnesota Wild are getting closer to signing forward Ryan Hartman to a contract extension, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported Friday.

According to Friedman, the deal is likely for three years and in the $4 million AAV range.

Hartman is entering the final season of a three-year contract he signed in April 2021 and could become an unrestricted free agent.

The 29-year-old from Hilton Head Island, S.C., recorded 37 points (15 goals and 22 assists) in 59 games last season. He posted career highs across the board during the 2021-22 campaign with 34 goals and 31 assists for 65 points in 82 games.

Hartman was drafted in the first round, 30th overall, by the Chicago Blackhawks in 2013.

He has 107 goals and 126 assists for 233 points in 506 games over nine NHL seasons with the Blackhawks, Nashville Predators, Philadelphia Flyers and Wild.
