Wild sign forward Marcus Foligno to four-year, $16M contract extension

The Minnesota Wild announced Friday they have signed forward Marcus Foligno to a four-year, $16 million contract extension.

Foligno is entering the final season of a three-year deal he signed in January 2021 and would have been eligible to become an unrestricted free agent.

He was drafted in the fourth round, 104th overall, by the Buffalo Sabres in 2009 and was traded to the Wild in June 2017.

The 32-year-old Foligno has recorded 272 points (116 goals and 156 assists) in 743 games over 12 seasons with the Sabres and Wild.

He registered 21 points (seven goals and 14 assists) in 65 games last season.
