Wild’s Fleury exits game vs. Panthers with upper-body injury

Minnesota Wild goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury left Friday’s win over the Florida Panthers with an upper-body injury.

Fleury appeared to sustain the injury in the first period when he was run into by Panthers forward William Lockwood behind the net. Taking exception to the collision, teammate Brandon Duhaime exchanged blows with Lockwood after the play.

However, Fleury did not exit the game until the second period, when he was replaced by Filip Gustavsson. The Wild ultimately beat the Panthers 6-4.

Entering Friday’s game, Fleury had a .897 save percentage and 2.97 goals-against average in 22 games. The 39-year-old hit a major career milestone on Monday, passing Patrick Roy for second on the NHL’s all-time wins list with 552.

Wild forward Connor Dewar also left Friday’s game, suffering a lower-body injury.

Dewar, 24, has nine points (seven goals and two assists) in 44 games this season.
