Winnipeg Jets coach Rick Bowness to miss Tuesday’s game vs. Rangers

Winnipeg Jets coach Rick Bowness will miss Tuesday night’s game against the New York Rangers to have a medical procedure, the team announced.

Bowness, 69, will be replaced behind the bench by associate coach Scott Arniel.

The team said in a statement on X/Twitter that Bowness had returned to Winnipeg to have the procedure, the specifics of which were not disclosed.

The Jets game versus the Rangers is at Madison Square Garden, starting at 7 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. CT, and can be seen on Sportsnet+.

After an off-season of uncertainty, the Jets are having a gangbusters season, riding a 43-19-5 record to lead the Central and contend for the lead of the Western Conference.
