The OHL is poised to hire a man with a deep background in golf and football as its new commissioner.
Sportsnet's Jeff Marek reports the OHL is expected to name RBC Canadian Open tournament director Bryan Crawford to the role.
Crawford will replace longtime commissioner David Branch, who is leaving the post after 45 years running the league.
Crawford, a former Toronto Argonauts running back, has been running Canada's lone PGA Tour event since 2018.
Previously, the Hamilton native worked in management roles for Canada Basketball and Ontario University Athletics.
Crawford, 42, played for the Argos from 2005-11 after a stellar career at Queen's University in Kingston, Ont.
