Owen Griffin had two goals and one assist as the Oshawa Generals topped the Brampton Steelheads 4-1 on Sunday to advance to the second round of the Ontario Hockey League playoffs.
Luke Torrance and Colby Barlow also scored for Oshawa, which won the best-of-seven series 4-2. Jacob Oster made 23 saves.
Carson Rehkopf had the lone goal for Brampton, which avoided elimination on Friday with a 6-3 victory.
Brayden Gillespie turned away 30 of 33 shots in a losing effort.
Griffin's power-play goal with 2:42 left in the second period put the Generals ahead 3-0 entering the third period. After Gillespie's goal at 6:11 of the final frame, Griffin sealed the win with an empty-netter with 23 seconds remaining in the contest.
