Canada jumped up to a big lead early with two points in the second and third ends to go up 4-1. But the Americans didn’t get discouraged and kept the game close, eventually tying it at 6-6 entering the 10th end. However, Jones took advantage of having the hammer in the last end and won the game on the final throw.
Canada will have a quick turnaround before their next game. They will be back on the ice Wednesday at 7:05 a.m. ET against China (2-5). Canada will then close round-robin play with a game against Denmark (2-5) Thursday at 1:05 a.m.
