Jack Crawford fell just short of giving Canada its third medal in Olympic men’s downhill history on Monday.
OH. SNAP. JACK. Bringing the heat, Jack Crawford punched into 4th today @Beijing2022 in the men’s DH. Just 0.07 off the podium, this team is ready to charge the SG tomorrow.

The Toronto native was fourth in one of the marquee events of the Olympics, finishing seven hundredths of a second behind bronze medallist Matthias Mayer of Austria and .23 seconds behind gold medal winner Beat Feuz of Switzerland in Beijing.
Johan Clarey, a 41-year-old from France, was second.
“Coming fourth is really cool,” Crawford said. “I’m super happy that I was able to show that I can contend with these top guys. It’s early in my career and I’ve got a few more Olympics to go but it would still have been really nice to have some hardware on the first day of racing.”
Canada now has finished fourth four times in the first three days of the Games.
Crawford was second after his run, but eventually dropped out of the medals.
Brodie Seger of North Vancouver was 23rd and Broderick Thompson of Whistler, B.C., did not finish.
Crawford finished fifth in the first training run this week. The 24-year-old also has three top-10 finishes on the World Cup circuit this season.
Steve Podborski won a bronze in men’s downhill in 1980 in Lake Placid, while fellow Canadian Ed Podivinsky matched that result in 1994 in Lillehammer.
Canada hasn’t won an Olympic medal in alpine skiing since 1994.
The men’s Super G is Monday at 10 p.m. ET.
