Two-time Olympic champion Rosie MacLennan finished in fourth place at the women's trampoline gymnastics event in Tokyo, the first time since 2008 the Canadian hasn't medalled in the Olympic Games.

MacLennan, competing in this year's Games just nine weeks after suffering an ankle injury, finished with a score of 55.460, losing to China's Zhu Xueying (gold) and Liu Lingling (silver), and Britain’s Bryony Page (bronze) in the final round on Friday.

The 32-year-old Ontario native made her fourth Olympic appearance in Tokyo. MacLennan earned gold in Beijing 2012 and Rio 2016. She is also a three-time world champion and two-time Pan Am gold medallist.
